Personal date such as age, size and sex can be easily entered via the keyboard below the display in order to determine body composition precisely. Robust and durable, the platform is made with 8mm safety glass with a transparent ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) coating. The coating enables the glass to conduct a brief and harmless electric current or pulse that passes through the skin and enables the scale to measure body composition. What is measured is the body's resistance to the brief electrical pulse. Muscle contains up to 75% water and conducts extremely well whilst fat contains only 25% water which produces high resistance.
